About FinishStone™

The FinishStone™ Difference.

It starts with molds struck from real artisan-crafted stone surfaces, but what really makes FinishStone panels unique is our manufacturing mastery of the composites technology. To create the look and feel of stone and protect against UV and moisture exposure, real iron oxide pigments are bonded to a panel substrate in a proprietary reaction injection molding (RIM) process. The iron oxide in FinishStone is fused to the substrate during the production process, which gives FinishStone its great durability. Imitators use paint or another finish, sprayed on after the part is made. FinishStone is proud to be part of Romeo RIM Inc., the largest RIM manufacturer in North America. Romeo RIM has pioneered and perfected this demanding technology for customers in the agricultural and automotive industries.

It takes a quality process to make a quality product.

  • Begin with a perfect mold of a beautifully crafted stone surface
  • The molding process starts with the laying down of a superbly realistic color surface, provided by iron oxide pigments. The oxide also gives the surface the gritty feel of stone while providing protection against UV and moisture exposure.
  • To provide added opacity, stability and UV protection, a second layer of iron oxide is applied using a proprietary application and drying process pioneered by Romeo RIM.
  • Two reactive liquid components thoroughly blended and poured into the mold, cure into a solid, durable panel substrate. The mold is pressure sealed to increase substrate density and maximize strength of the panel.
